The tables below list the OpenCL and OpenGL versions that Mac computers support.

Has anyone ever figured out the issue that causes color blocks/crashing after upgrading to OSX High Sierra. I see quite a few posts about this issue but no resolution. Downgrading didn't help. Seems like the Radeon firmware might have been permanently changed. IMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2011) 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5. AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB. EEE code: DGJ4, DGJ5, F17Y, F180 Apple part number: 661-5967, 730-0630 Compatible models: 661-5967, 730-0630 661-5967 Video Card AMD Radeon HD 6770M, 512MB - Mid 2011 - A1312, 27 inch iMac 730-0630 661-5967 graphic card.

  1. The AMD Radeon HD 6770M sometimes also called ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6770 or similar is a fast middle class graphics card for laptops in supports DirectX11. The iMac Core i5 2.7 21.5-Inch Aluminum Mid-2011 is powered by a Quad Core 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5 I5-2500S Sandy Bridge processor with a dedicated 256k level 2 cache for each core and a 6 MB.
  2. Just to let you know, I managed to download Catalyst 12.4 (windows 7) for my Macbook Pro with the 6770 1Gb graphics and it is just and incredible bump over the Bootcamp Drivers. I seriously recommend installing this drivers which I downloaded from the internet after some googling. Steps (as I did, works very well) 1.
  3. HOWTO: Use a 6750 (or 6770) in a Mac Pro (4,1) Turns out that the 67xx cards are rebranded 57xx cards, and the 6750/5750 are pretty much JUST downclocked 6770/5770s. Since Apple released an official HD 5770, that means we can use those cards when EFI flashed. Here's the details on how I got it to work.
  4. I find quite impressive that AMD is not releasing Boot Camp drivers at the same rate as Nvidia does, in fact, after seeing how many 'updates' are available online it looks like the whole Mac Pro platform is completely forgotten by AMD, and it is embarrassing that the available AMD driver 'updates' for AMD are in practice downgrades, the original Boot Camp video driver provided by Apple is.

Each GPU's hardware capabilities determine the version of OpenCL or OpenGL that's supported. Some GPUs don't support OpenCL and are noted with —. Some applications might have specific version requirements.

Is there a driver update for AMD Radeon HD 6770M following upgrade to OSX High Sierra to address the GPU performance issue users are seeing?

Amd radeon hd 6770m 512 mb driver mac 10

From the point I upgraded to OSX High Sierra it was clear that the GPU was struggling - AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB. It coincided exactly with the upgrade. I see other posts on other sites indicating the same behaviour. On previous upgrades where this has happened Apple updated the firmware fro the GPU's - are there any plans to do this in this occasion.
